2021 Q1 Laramar Love Award Winners

In February 2020, we launched Recognize, #LaramarLOVE (Living Our Values Every day), our internal recognition platform. Let us celebrate all we accomplished in Q1 2021 – We are thrilled to announce and honor the Q1 2021 Recognize Award Winners! First, some fun facts:
- In Q1 Laramar sent a total of 3348 badges to team members, a record number!
- We love to Make it Happen; it continues to be the most used badge. In Q1, there were 811 Make it Happen badges sent, and we know how to Go for Wow which came in second with 651 badges sent.
Our values bind us together and set us apart. They reflect what we believe, how we act and ways we thrive. Our values matter because they drive our culture – how we show up, operate, collaborate, and celebrate here at Laramar.
Be What’s Next | Cody Conklin | Learning & Development Specialist
Cody joined the L&D team at Laramar in September 2020, he has an eye for design and an ear to listen and does so while welcoming new ideas and staying curious about everything. Now to highlight some of the recognizes that came through for Cody, “I love the power point format you made for training! It’s fresh, modern and exciting.” “What an amazing CONNECT sales course today! Wonderful way to kick us off into the busy season and provide our team members with knowledge, support, and resources! Make It Matter | Tiffany Logan | General Manager at Trillium
Tiffany joined Laramar in December 2020 and she has been Making it Matter since day one, we are excited to honor the work she is doing to speak and act from a place of impact! Now to highlight some of the recognitions that came through, “You did fantastic on your renewal and occupancy action plan presentation today, it is so great to see you excited about the process and see your eagerness to continue to improve our performance!” Another coworker wrote, “You are AMAZING, you juggle so many tasks for such a large community and you have the best, most upbeat attitude! I am so excited to be partnered up you. Your passion for a challenge and for your team is something we both have in common, although we have recently learned that our communication styles are different, we strive for the same results. I look forward to learning more from you, sharing experiences and to encourage each other!”
Own It | David Junior | Area Service Manager | MN
David Junior knows how to take initiative and Own It! One of his coworkers describes David’s strengths in owning it, “I can always count on you to put out whatever fires I need put out, to see the things I don’t see and to get the vendors together! Thank you!”
Make it Happen | Carla Lucero | Sales & Marketing Manager | Denver Local
Carla has been Making it Happen with Laramar since April 2018! Now to highlight a few of the recognitions that came in for Carla Making it Happen, “ROCKSTAR! 5 Leases in one day WOHOO!” and “We had a resident who needed help with their lease renewal, and we were struggling with a language barrier. Carla was so kind to take the time to talk with them over the phone and assist in getting them renewed. Thank you, Carla! I appreciate you”!
Make it Better Together | Jesse Slaven | National Director of Facilities

Go for Wow | Ana Cruz | Maintenance Coordinator | Chicago Local
Ana has been Going for Wow with and for Laramar since May 2019. She does not settle and pushes the possibilities in her role as Maintenance Coordinator daily. Build Trust | Joseph Shamburg | CM | Denver Local
Joseph joined the Laramar team in December 2019 and has been making a positive impact by building trust and choosing to do what is right, not what is easy. One coworker put it well by saying, “Great job on going out of your way to hand deliver new mailbox keys to all of our Vue residents that were home today. It was an awesome way to personalize the experience and I am sure you made lots of people very happy!”
Be Humble | Heller Bates | CM | Denver Local
Heller shows up living the value Be Humble by producing real results with no ego or politics. Stay Nimble | Penny Priebe | Area Manager
Penny recently moved into the Area Manager position where she Stays Nimble by showing up as a team player, ready to learn, pivot and grow daily. “Great job today you are really growing quickly in your new role and appreciate all the attention to detail and your commitment to learn and help our teams elevate and be there for our residents. A lot of great wins already and it is only Tuesday!” “Penny you truly deserve the Nimble Badge! You are doing your best to navigate in your new role, filling in as acting manager in open positions and one just filled, onboarding our new community manager, and learning new properties. You are staying focused, positive, and willing to shift as needed and appreciate you being so willing to be nimble and all your hard work. It has not been easy!”
